MX5000GE is a Gigabit Ethernet transceiver. It can convert signals between RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet connections and singlemode fiber optic, or between multimode Gigabit Ethernet connections and singlemode fiber optic. Also it can act as a singlemode repeater.

MX5000GE is a Gigabit Ethernet transceiver. It can convert signals between RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet connections and singlemode fiber optic, or between multimode Gigabit Ethernet connections and singlemode fiber optic. Also it can act as a singlemode repeater. The bi-directional transmission is done by over one strand of the fiber. It uses standard SC or SC/APC fiber connector. MX5000GE expands network data transmission distances beyond the 2km limitation of multimode optical fiber to a maximum of 110km by transmitting over singlemode fiberoptic cable in full duplex mode.
